Surigao Airport - Surigao City - Siargao Route ( vice versa )

Ever wonder how to get to Siargao without choosing the pricey direct flight route to the island? then this post might help find a solution to that problem and I tried to make the route as cheap as possible. Recommended for the back packers who wants to save as much as possible on a transportation to get to the island.

- from MANILA recommended to fly through Butuan City it's cheaper and more tickets are on sale in that route than a direct flight to Surigao City or a connecting flight Manila - Cebu - Surigao.
- from CEBU a direct flight to SURIGAO City is more convenient and more tickets are on sale through that route by Cebu Pacific Airline.
DIRECT FLIGHT TO SAYAK AIRPORT IN SIARGAO :  CEBU monday & friday ( Cebu Pacific Airline ) 10:50 am

In Surigao Airport walk out of the airport and take a 10 minutes walk to Gaisano Capital Mall. Just in front of the biggest mall in Surigao is a ride (locals call it easy ride) with a sign board in front PIER / TERMINAL that will take you to the city for a fee of Php 9 and if you got in early this ride will also go to the pier where you can take the ferry boat that will take you to Siargao Island for a fee of Php 250

Ferry boats ( Surigao Pier - Dapa Port, Siargao )
Bretphil and LQP1 - daily @ 6am
Dapa Express and Arjie2 - daily @ 10:45am
Roro Montenegro - daily @ 12nn

It's a 3 hours trip to the island. It's best to take the first trip of 6am wherein the seas is still calm. We arrive early in Dapa Port with no disturbances or any high waves in the sea and it was even raining while we're heading Siargao.

There are lots of means of transportation (jeepney, habal-habal, tricycle, private vans) that will take you to different towns in Siargao. The most known is Cloud 9 in General Luna for the best surfing spot in the whole island. You can haggle for as low as Php 60 for a habal-habal ride good for 2 pax to take you to Cloud 9 while the tricycle ( motor cab ) cheapest rate is Php 150 good for 4 pax. I can highly recommend Ocean 101 they got the best value for their resort and lots of variable rates to choose from.
